Ángel Pagán may be feeling a bit embarrassed after his run to the bathroom caused a game delay, Monday night.
The New York Mets center fielder was feeling a bit unsettled at the end of the fourth inning. He said the rumble down below came suddenly and he had little time to react so he told trainer Ray Ramirez and ran to the washroom.
The Puerto Rican player thought he had plenty of time before he’d be up to bat, but before he was finished in the clubhouse bathroom he said he looked at a television and saw the inning was moving along more quickly then expected.
“When you’re up fourth in the inning and you have to do that, it’s just not fun,” Pagán told the NY Daily News.
Though he was doing his best to hurry up, Pagán, 30, wound up being booed by the crowd when umpire Mike DiMuro realized the next batter, Pagán, was no where to be found.
