Some of the major aspects of the Law include:
• Establish cooperation between the Government and states to implement safety measures.
• An Emergency Measure of Protection, to provide temporary relocation and evacuation of journalists and activists threatened and detailed security measures for them. In additional they will be given safety equipment like security cameras in their homes and offices.
Finally, the President called on the three levels of government, public authorities and society as a whole to continue joining efforts in order to make Mexico a safe country for journalists and human rights defenders.
