According to everything-wedding website TheKnot.com’s 2012 Wedding Destination Study, Costa Rica is the best place in to tie the knot in Latin America.
The study found that 1 in every 4 destination weddings in Latin America is held in Costa Rica, with Nicaragua coming in second, Brazil and Belize tied at third, Panama in fourth, and Colombia and Guatemala in fifth.
Deputy manager and marketing director for the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism, Ireth Rodriguez, told The Costa Rica News, “Costa Rica’s exotic locales, romantic atmosphere and favorable climate are only a few of the reasons why more and more couple’s are finding themselves saying ‘I Do’ in Costa Rica. What truly distinguishes Costa Rica from other wedding destinations is its unique blend of natural atmospheres with premium luxury services, which allows couples to immerse themselves in nature while enjoying high-quality amenities.”
Aside from the stunning beauty of Costa Rica, the activities and adventures available give couples and their wedding parties the opportunity to have fun pre- and post-wedding.
Many of the hotels and rental properties in Costa Rica offer wedding packages and The Knot recommends couples visit Manuel Antonio and Peninsula de Osa for a very special honeymoon.
