The DEA today announced that the U.S. Department of the Treasury designated 18 individuals and 15 entities linked to Rafael Caro Quintero, a Mexican drug trafficker. Rafael Caro Quintero is a significant Mexican narcotics trafficker who began his criminal career in the late 1970s when he and others, including Juan Jose Esparragoza Moreno (a.k.a. “El Azul”), formed the Guadalajara drug cartel and amassed an illicit fortune.

Mayoral Candidate in Chihuahua Found Murdered, Body Thrown on Road

The body of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI, candidate for mayor of Guadalupe y Calvo, a city in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua, was found on a dirt road, officials said.

Jaime Orozco Madrigal’s body was discovered Wednesday on a road that leads to Guadalupe y Calvo, Chihuahua Gov. Cesar Duarte said in a press conference.

At Los Rios, also a local area, a woman was found stabbed to death. Cops found paper with a “narcomessage” reading “All toads must die, nobody messes with the Sinaloa Cartel.”

In Camargo, Chihuahua around 5:00 pm on Thursday, thugs left a card with criminal threats to sex workers who work in the downtown area.

The message was made with newspaper clippings on a fluorescent yellow colored cardboard, threatening to kill them and hang them from bridges.

Another Brother of Singer Pablo Montero Killed in Torreon, Mexico

Another eerily similar tragedy has hit the Mexican actor and singer Pablo Montero – another brother brutally murdered in Torreon.

Mexican authorities are reporting that the 45-year-old brother of Montero, Javier Hernandez Rodriguez, was killed when he was stabbed multiple times in the chest and abdomen. His body was found on the side of the road next to a woman who was seriously injured. The bodies were found the morning of June 12th around 1:45 a.m. near a busy city center.
