It’s been 20-years since the world was introduced to Cuba’s iconic Buena Vista Social Club and nearly 70 years since the member’s only musical club garnered fame in the island nation. And now Lucy Walker checks up on what the musical group has been doing since the 1999 documentary “Buena Vista Social Club” debuted.
“Buena Vista Social Club – Adios” is billed as a trip down memory lane for 5 of the original band members who started with the group before Fidel Castro came to power and are alive to see his brother rule Cuba. It is their farewell tour in life that is the focus on this sequel.
