After years of blazing through the billboard charts creating hit after unforgettable hit, Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel is going to get a chance to shine on the small screen as he tackles a whole new medium: writing and producing for television.
In a 13-part series about his illustrious career from his start in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico all the way to where he is today, Gabriel will partner on this new and exciting project called “Hasta Que Te Conocí” along with Disney Media Distribution Latin America and SOMOS Productions.
“This series about my life, which is being scripted, I’m doing it with love, with much gratitude to everyone who has participated in my life as Juan Gabriel. I want it to be a beautiful memory; that is my wish,” Gabriel stated earlier this week, according to Billboard Music.
An exact release date from Telemundo, who will debut the show on their network, has not been set yet. Earlier this year, Gabriel was honored with a mural in his hometown of Ciudad Juarez, honoring his contributions to the Latin music community, while his latest album Los Duo (a collection of songs performed with Latin music’s biggest stars) has achieved the highest first-week sales of any of his previous albums in the U.S.
