The woes continue for Luis Miguel “El Sol de Mexico.” According to NBC News a California judge issued an arrest warrant for Miguel who then turned himself in and was arrested in Los Angeles. The warrant was issued by the judge due to Miguel skipping out on numerous courts dates related to his long running legal battles with his former manager.
Hispanically Speaking News had reported earlier that Miguel’s former manager William Brockhaus won a $5 million court ordered settlement after Miguel had refused to compensate the manager for concerts he had organized and endorsement deals secured. Apparently, Miguel paid a portion of the settlement in addition to having his Rolls Royce repossessed in efforts to settle the balance. Reportedly Miguel had given the court several assurances he would pay the balance and he did not live up to those promises.
Miguel was warned several times by the court to appear regarding this civil matter. These warnings were clearly ignored. He is due to appear before a judge later this afternoon.
