At least seven criminals were killed and five late-model trucks completely destroyed and burnt by bursts of machine gun fire and grenade launchers, as the result of a shootout between suspected assassins in the service of organized crime and elements of the Mexican Army. The confrontation took place on early on Wednesday in the stretch of highway in Jalisco and Tepetongo Colotlán in Zacatecas.
There were confrontations in at least eight different points of the two states.
The authorities of the three levels of government in Zacatecas have not released the details of this shooting, however unofficially there are at least seven fatalities as the result of armed conflict.
One of the armed struggles of the drug cartels in the area west of Mexico took place at approximately kilometer 240 of the federal highway. Vehicles found were a Lincoln Navigator, 2010 model, white color Armored license plates JM-46-705 Jalisco state. Also found were 32 firearms of various calibers, as well as a rifle AK.47,Norinko mark and an assault rifle G-3 size 308.
Were found other late-model vehicles with clear signs that were used during the fighting in other parts of the road Colotlán-Jerez, and in the town of Jalpa Zacatecas . We have located at least five other vehicles involved in this shooting.
