NARCO BLOG: Professor at the School of Psychology in Acapulco Kidnapped, Ransomed and Beheaded

During the afternoon of Wednesday, Roberto Abarca Serna, 42 years old, a professor at the School of Psychology at the University Autónoma de Guerrero, was kidnapped by armed criminals when he was outside his home in the colony of Acapulco, Guerrero.

Roberto’s family was very worried, until the criminals made a call to his wife and demanded a ransom of 40 000 pesos. Mrs. Citlali went to the Real Estate Housing Unit, where the gunmen had told her they were holding her husband.

When Mrs. Citlali came to the place agreed upon, the gunmen grabbed her and forced her to sit in a chair in front of her husband who had been beheaded.

The gunmen left the place with money. Police were called to the scene, a few meters from the prison of Las Cruces and met with the terrified woman.

Roberto’s mother is a leading merchant in Acapulco.
