Narco Blog: Many Drug Traffickers No Longer Living in Luxurious Mansions

The Intelligence Department of the Navy Secretary of Mexico, insists that some drug dealers do not live in big mansions or luxurious residences, quite the contrary, as their research shows that leaders and major players in the organization specifically Los Zetas have changed their lifestyle due to the intense war on drugs waged by the government of Felipe Calderon and have decided to hide in much less glamorous conditions.

Many members of Los Zetas Drug Cartel live in trailers, trucks or vans, according to reports from the SEMARNAT. These drug dealers have decided to live that way for greater mobility and to be able to escape quickly when necessary.

For example, Raul Lucio Hernandez, alias Lucky, founder and leader of Los Zetas, was captured in December 2011 in the state of Veracruz. The Drug Lord was living in a camper that was parked in a yard.
