Narco Blog: “Los Zetas” Drug Cartel Now Controls of Half of Mexico

The criminal group “Los Zetas” is the leader in over half the country in drug trafficking, extortion, human trafficking and theft of fuel in the country of Mexico.

The Deputy head of Research, Cuitláhuac Salinas, said in a meeting with lawyers and students at the National Institute of Criminal Science when he disclosed the following map.

At that meeting four years ago said the Sinaloa cartel, Joaquin leading El Chapo Guzman and Ismael El Mayo Zamba given, had a presence in 23 states, whereas now only 16, less than “Los Zetas.”

Los Zetas, Heriberto Lazcano led, The Lazca, maintain a presence in Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosi, Hidalgo, Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Tabasco, Chiapas, Yucatan and Quintana Roo.
