Narco Blog: Gunman Attack Bar in Mazatlan as People are Enjoying World Cup U-17

Yesterday afternoon terror struck the customers of bar on Avenida Francisco Solis, Mazatlan, Sinaloa as they were watching a soccer game. People were enjoying the game of the final World Cup U-17 at the moment that Mexico won.

A group of armed men entered the festive room and began shooting at the crowd. The cries celebrating the victory of Mexico became horrible screams as the blasts from then high power guns were realized. After staging the attack, the gunmen walked up to some local man to take them.

The men resisted and in the violence that ensued resulted in two men being executed. They are Pedro Ángel Velázquez Zamudio, 24, and the minor identified as Mauricio, 16. In addition at least 11 customers were injured, being transferred to the hospital to receive medical attention. Reports indicate some names of the injured, are Jesus Fernando Manuel de Jesus and Jose Gabriel.

Authorities located at least 60 shell casings in the bar and nobody has been arrested.
