Narco Blog: Family Attacked in Chihuahua- 2 yr Old and Infant Missing

A group of gunmen attacked a family traveling in a van during the afternoon. The attack occurred in the streets of the colony Tierra Nueva, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.

In the vehicle was the body of Adrian Cano Peña, 28, while his wife tried to flee the attack. His wife, 25-year Cristina Hinojosa was found dead in the street.

The couple’s children, a two-year and 4 month old infant are missing, as well as Cristina’s sister, identified as Jovita Hinojosa. It is not known if they managed to flee the scene or the armed group that carried out the attack has them captive.

Authorities are investigating the case, but witnesses say the couple was quiet, even Adrian had donated a kidney to his brother recently, noting that Jovita, whose whereabouts are unknown, has been linked to organized crime.
