A family was attacked by armed men last Thursday night at the community of Pantanal, in the Xalisco municipality of Nayarit.
Reports indicate that the family was traveling in a burgundy Ford Lobo, when armed men intercepted them on the streets of Santa Teresita, and opened fire on the vehicle.
The father was killed in the shooting, the mother wounded, and their 20 year old daughter managed to escape unharmed.
Authorities have identified the dead as Mr. José de Jesús Martínez, 65.
