The town of San Cristobal de la Barranca, on the border of Jalisco and Zacatecas, was attacked by an armed commando who shot over 500 times.

Elements of Police report that around 05:30am eight trucks surrounded the police station, located in Hidalgo and Madero, and the subjects began shooting.

Some neighbors said they spotted at least 40 men who opened fire on the police station. There were seven officers working who sought refuge, finding themselves outnumbered.

It is assumed that the shooting lasted about 20 minutes. The bullet damaged the facade of the Municipal building, a private car and two police cars.

Many residents reported being very concerned and feeling unprotected.  The local police were unable to counter the attack and elements of the state police took at least two hours to arrive.
