Blog del Narco: Gunmen Attack Bar in Downtown Monterey

An armed group, consisting of at least eight people entered the premises of the business called “International Bar”, located in downtown Monterrey and shot a waiter.

The incident took place shortly after 11:30pm hours on the premises that are located at the intersection of Francis I. Madero and Aristae.

Depending on the version of witnesses, the gunmen were traveling in at least two vehicles: a van Windstar and X-Trail.

The events led to a rapid mobilization by the municipal, state and army.

Parishioners narrated that the men entered the premises and were looking for the waiter, who was identified only as “Chuy”.

The body of the victim was taken to University Hospital Amphitheater.

This is not the first time bloody events have happened at the International Bar; last year was the scene of the murder of six people. The Crime of 2011 also was perpetrated by unknown persons.
