A couple tried to move drugs from Sinaloa to Sonora, in wrappers hidden in six hoagie sandwiches. Federal agents, thanks to an anonymous tip, discovered them. Given the increased security, particularly at the border of Mexico and the United States, drug traffickers have devised various methods to move drugs.

From using tunnels, catapults, submarines and aircraft, to hiding narcotics in clothing, septic tanks, shoes, in plaster statues, in food jars and even in wheelchairs have been some of their strategies.

The most recent case occurred in Sonora, where a man and a woman were arrested in possession of 210 grams of methamphetamine hidden in six ham sandwiches, informed the delegation of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).

According to the agency, the arrest was made after “a citizen complaint” which reported that a couple on board a passenger bus was carrying drugs in his possession. After this “alert”, federal agents implemented a review of the International Highway No. 15 Mexico-Nogales, at the junction towards Agiabampo village.

” The police stopped a bus for inspection from Culiacan, Sinaloa, and to Hermosillo, Sonora; during registration to transport passengers, now apprehended the suspects in possession of a plastic bag contained six sandwiches “, the statement said.
