One ton of cocaine was seized and three suspects were arrested by navy personnel in the Pacific Ocean, the Colombian navy said.

The cocaine was seized aboard a vessel some 11 nautical miles from Catripe, a sector between the towns of Virudo and Pizarro in the western province of Choco, which borders Panama, the navy said.

The cocaine belonged to the Los Rastrojos gang, whose top leaders are brothers Luis Enrique and Javier Antonio Calle Serna.

Javier Antonio Calle Serna surrendered to U.S. authorities in Aruba last Friday.

The cocaine was aboard the Kike, a lobster boat, the navy said.

The vessel and its three crew members were turned over to prosecutors.

“This has allowed us to prevent more than $25 million from accruing to the finances of this illegal armed group,” the navy said.

The Pacific Naval Force has seized about 14 tons of cocaine and four tons of marijuana so far this year.
