Blog del Narco: Car Bomb Threatens Governor of Tamaulipas

Tamaulipas government authorities confirmed an explosion and gunfire at the state government house.

A government spokesman confirmed that an explosion was reported at one in the afternoon.  This occurred off the parking lot of the Burger King opposite the house of the governor Egidio Torre Cantu.

Ministerial police who requested anonymity confirmed that the attack involved a car bomb, which damaged several vehicles, but the official version is that a grenade was thrown from a car.

Currently, the main avenue Tamaulipas and areas surrounding the Government House remain closed.

Authorities have not given information about possible victims or arrests.
