A new sculpture has been unveiled at the Latino Cultural Center in Dallas, dedicated to the civil rights group DREAMers.
The piece is called the “Guardian of the DREAMers.” The statue itself looks like an angel, a woman with wings that sits on limestone rocks, according to NBC News. It was created by local Dallas artist Eliseo Garcia and took him three years to complete.
Many people from around the country are coming to see the unveiling of the statue. One of those individuals, Gaby Pachecho, says the statue symbolizes the DREAMers legacy and for future generations to understand the importance of the movement, according to NBC News.
