About Us

Welcome to Hispanically Speaking News

Hispanically Speaking News (http://www.hs-news.com) is the digital media division of HSN Media Enterprises that aims to provide premier Latino content celebrating Hispanic culture and contributions while creating information platforms critical to the community that lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of this key population segment.

HS News is an independent online news site and virtual cultural center where a team of Latino editors, writers and crazy creative-types originate and publish valuable, timely and culturally sensitive content all peppered with some spicy wit to keep you engaged, informed and connected.

We recognize that we are placed under the roof of one word, Hispanic, but here in your on-line casita we acknowledge and embrace the diversity amongst ourselves and reflect the social nuances of our different Hispanic cultural groups.  Though our priority audience is the Latino community there is something here for anyone wanting to learn and engage this vibrantly dynamic community.

HS News provides its readers with information and thought leadership on issues identified through quantifiable research as most relevant to the community, such as: immigration, education, healthy lifestyles, cultural connectivity and elimination of economic disparities.  To that end HS News engages community leaders, personalities, elected officials, clergy and newsmakers as contributors while nurturing an ever-growing Hispanic-centric bloggers network anchored by our very popular and widely distributed ‘Por Que’ column.

For those seeking up-to-date information on news for and about Latinos visit our Latino Daily News section that contains dynamic content with 24/7 coverage of breaking stories and current events.  Our editorial team also provides extensive coverage on U.S. states with significant Latino populations and Latin American news through our iOnAmericas vertical.  For those readers seeking a visual education look at our Infographic and Photo Gallery verticals that capture demographic data, trends, studies and lists on Latinos in a snapshot. For history buffs check out the “This Day in Latin American History” and quickly figure why ‘Cinco de Mayo’ is important and not just to Corona.

To showcase Latino culture we collect the sights, sounds and diverse flavors throughout our Latino Culture and Latino Lifestyle sections.  There you will find offerings on everything from Latin entertainment, food, music, and books to happenings in the Latin art and fashion scenes.  And if you are ready to visit Latin America visit our travel section first to find out-of-the-way places locals visit.

Through HSN’s Quinceañera, Libros and Latin Kitchen verticals we have crafted editorial and commercial partnerships for these uniquely and particular Latin nuances and experiences.

Thanks to you HS News quickly garnered critical audience mass since its inception in June 2010 and has established itself as one of the most visited U.S. sites by Latinos.  Your support and enthusiasm for our content has made us a market leader in our competitive landscape; we are proud to see our content used and referenced amongst such media and policy giants as the Huffington Post, McClatchy, Gawker Media, Latino Policy Forum and the Council on Hemispheric Affairs.

Gracias por visitar, please come back soon and often.
