Guatemala's Catholic Church marked Friday's 15th anniversary of the brutal murder of Bishop Juan Jose Gerardi by remembering the slain cleric as a peace activist and defender of human rights. At least eight people were killed and more than 20 others wounded when gunmen armed with assault rifles opened fire at a disco in Villa Nueva, a city in the southern part of the Guatemala City metropolitan area, a National Civilian Police, or PNC, spokesman said Sunday.
