City Beaches Closed Due to Fog - Check Today if Reopened

All but one of the city of Chicago's beaches were closed today due to the poor visibility from the low laying fog. The only beach open to swimmers was the 12th Street beach. City beaches were technically opened but no one was allowed to enter the water to swim. The low laying fog caused by the extreme heat makes it difficult for life guards to see who is in the water and what is happening, therefore making it an unsafe situation. continue reading »
